Here we have a VERY few, MINT-condition examples of the SD Studios Luke ROTJ Lightsaber replica. As most collectors know, Master Replicas started back in 2001 and our first two pieces were the Han Solo ANH blaster and the Luke ROTJ lightsaber. The first 1500 units of the Luke were made here in PA by a local machine shop. (the remainder of the run were manufactured in China). I had the opportunity to actually handle, measure, and photograph the original “hero” filming prop while it was on public display in a museum in Ohio. I then created the blueprints that were used to produce the replicas. So these are very accurate to the original, while being slightly “idealized” and generally cleaned-up, as the original was a bit sloppy in some areas. I received requests from fans and collectors to reproduce this particular piece. So I asked the shop to make a few extras and here they are. There will only be a FEW available. Once these are gone, they will be GONE. So these are made by the SAME shop that made the original MR US lightsabers, using the SAME blueprints and MOSTLY the same materials. The triangle indicators on the control box are cast resin instead of injected plastic, the top control panel is from a different supplier, and the “activator switch” is machined metal instead of plastic on the MR. These have the correct blue circuit board and I have even added the second tiny screw on the emitter that was on the original, but we left off the MR replicas. Otherwise, the entire saber is machined in 6061 aluminum and polished to the same beautiful luster as the original MR US sabers!
