The antenna base has a flat side so it can mount flush against helmet. This is an actual helmet that can be worn. It is full scale and is large enough to hold some electronics (fans-batteries & Mic) inside. It is roto-cast by me from resin 2 part plastic. A very durable helmet that will last a long time! It will fit up to about 26 inch round head -measured at the eyebrow. But primer always needs to be sanded before adding any top coat/paint.
