This 20th Century-Fox press kit for George Lucas’ groundbreaking 1977 sci-fi/fantasy epic, “Star Wars, ” is highlighted by an extraordinary 26-page, full-color booklet containing production photos from the movie and brief introductions to space-adventure characters who were to become some of the most recognizable and beloved figures in film history: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C3P0, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi and many more. There also are 19 black and white production photos in pristine condition (no curling) and an eight-page, type-written production guide, which has a plot synopsis, details of the film’s difficult location shooting and insights into Lucas’ creative vision, with quotes from the director himself. Lastly, the kit contains a four-page color theater program of cast and credits that typically was handed out to Hollywood insiders attending special advance screenings of major motion pictures. The 26-page color booklet shows some minor edge wear and a small dent on the front and back covers (see photos). Overall, this press kit is in very good to excellent condition — a rare collection of “Star Wars” memorabilia that should delight serious fans and collectors alike.
